Has anyone approached you and said this:
“Hey, you know about computers right? I’ve got this idea for an app, do you know anything about that?”
My name is Sam, and I’m a software developer. And I know, there are a lot of people out there who want to build a mobile app. And when people know you as a ‘computer person’, they come to you for help with anything related to computers, even things that aren’t in your wheelhouse.
This site is here to help people who want to make an app, but don’t have the experience. It walks them though the basics of what a mobile app is, and how to go about creating one.
There’s a second purpose, to help computer people like you. The first couple of times you get asked about making an app, it’s fun! It shows that people in your network trust you enough to share an idea with you, and that you’ll be able to help them understand something confusing.
But to be honest, eventually it gets old. If you’re not personally interested in app development, you can’t really give the kind of answers that would really help, without spending a ton of time and effort that can be better spent somewhere else.
And that’s why I created HowAppsAreMade.com. I make apps for a living, and I really enjoy helping people understand how the mobile app industry works. So the next time someone asks you how to make an app, send them to HowAppsAreMade.com!
